The institute of Charity, popularly known as Rosminian Fathers is an international religious congregation founded by an Italian Priest, Blessed Antonio Rosmini – (1797-1855). The congregation was recognized by the Holy see in 1828. Today the institute of Charity has presence in Italy, the UK, Ireland, the USA, India, New Zealand, Tanzania and Kenya. Blessed Antonio Rosmini is known as one of the greatest Catholic figures of the 19th Century – a philosophical genius revered as a thinker and a writer.

On 19th July 1945 at 8.20 a.m. two Rosminian priests, Fr. Frank Kennedy and Fr. Walter Dick, boarded the mail boat at Dun Laoghaire to begin the first leg of their journey to Africa. Fortunately for posterity Fr. Kennedy kept a diary of the voyage...............
